Piece of the Dream Vote
One of my first tasks as the lead UX designer on tentpoles and sweepstakes was the redesign of the vote process used by HGTV Dream Home and DIYNetwork Blog Cabin giveaways. These votes are important drivers of page views, user engagement, and marketing for the sweepstakes themselves. The new design reduced the number of steps in the process and brought focus to the quality photography of the home. The result was a near 90% completion rate of the vote, double page views over previous year, and nearly double the associated sweepstakes entries in the first year of implementation. As part of the research process, I constructed a rudimentary prototype to test the flow and user perception on features like the progress bar.
